Harvey County is located in South Central Kansas with Newton serving as the county seat.  The Harvey County Economic Development office is located in historic downtown Newton at 500 N Main, the historic Railroad Savings & Loan building.

Geographically positioned to provide unrivalled access to a wide range of transportation avenues, Harvey County is a great location for any new and expanding business.  US Highway 50 and Interstate 135 create a virtual “X” on the map in Harvey County.  Two Class 1 rail providers, BNSF and Union Pacific Railroads, serve the county allowing convenient access for the transportation of goods throughout the country and to the world.
